Think you know what the top three highest paid sports are? The list may surprise you. The top paid league is the NBA. The average salary in the NBA is 4.79 million per year. One of the reasons for this is that rosters are rather small compared to other sports. Teams can then pay their players more. The top paying NBA team is the LA Lakers with 94.7 million, while the Minnesota Timberwolves only paid out 37.6 million. This may all change when the NBA is done with the lockout. Number two on our list is India’s Cricket League (IPL). Most players in this league receive huge sums of money over just a few years. The average salary in the IPL is estimated at 3.84 million. The top paying team in the IPL is the Royal Challengers Bangalore with an average of 4.5 million per player. Number three is Major League Baseball (MLB). Salaries, on average for baseball, are around 3.3 million per year. Not surprisingly, the New York Yankees are the top paying team in the MLB with 201.7 million for the year. To put this in perspective the lowest paying team in the MLB is the Kansas City Royals with a total payroll of 36.1 million.

The best time to start teaching your child about sports is immediately. Interacting with your child as an infant indirectly prepares him for more vigorous activity, like sports. These interactions strengthen, develop, and socialize children properly to become athletic individuals. Eventually, playing with your child will lead up to activities like passing a ball, dribbling, and running. These skills are all associated with playing sports. When your child can walk, now is the time to start teaching him various rules and introducing different kinds of sports.Check out this link here. Things like tossing a baseball, football, or playing basketball are a fun way to educate kids about sports. Not only is beginning to play sports with your child fun, it is also beneficial to you and your child’s health. By playing and teaching your child sports, you are getting exercise as well as your child. Sports are an enjoyable way to exercise and also help your child’s social and communication skills. After you teach your child about sports, after time, he and his friends will be able to play sports together, creating friendships and fun! In the end, simple interactions with your baby can lead up to him becoming an all-star athlete! So, go out and play!

Two down, eight to go.

If you are a college football fan you no doubt watched, or at least saw the highlights, of Wisconsin and Oklahoma falling from the ranks of the unbeatens this weekend in NCAA football. With Wisconsin losing on a last second Hail Mary pass from Michigan State, and Oklahoma losing handily to Texas Tech, the BCS football picture got a tiny bit less murky, though eight unbeaten teams still remain. And while a number one vs. number two matchup next weekend (LSU vs. Alabama) will bring that number down to at least seven, the fact remains that this may be a nightmare scenario for the BCS.

Of the eight undefeated teams out there right now, six have a chance to finish the season undefeated: the winner of the LSU/Alabama game, Boise State, Clemson, Stanford, Houston and the winner of the Oklahoma State/ Kansas State game that would take place later in the season is both teams win out. Ironically, Houston has the easiest road left as they don’t play a ranked team the rest of the way (though in Confrence USA they are doubtful to even reach a BCS game). Boise State still has TCU on the schedule, though they should finish the season undefeated. Stanford still has USC, Oregon and Notre Dame on the schedule, which means that if they keep winning they could reach the title game against the LSU/ Alabama winner, with Clemson and the OSU/K State winning close behind.
Phew.
